I'm haunted by your image
Infected by your every lie
How can I believe your words?
"True love won't ever die"
So diverse from the others
In ways that weren't all pure
Only when my eyes were unlocked
Open wide to your true nature
A false image you performed
To try and lure me in
But I am not your game
I'm here to rid you of your sins
To me, the truth was known
Thought I could be your saviour
But I failed, and I'm sorry
Inside your heart; a traitor
Now you said, "I love you"
Said, "You are beautiful"
But trickery alone is not enough
Your words; unbelievable
I gave you your chance
You let yourself down
Your fate is in your hands
Do not give up... may a hero be found

My eyes open wide

Eulogy For A Hero
He did not hold a mighty rank
his name is yet obscure.
But for us few who stood by him
the memory endures.
He did not falter, but stood strong;
nor gave in to his fear.
And others took their confidence
from knowing he was near.
He didn't fight for riches,
for glory, or for fame.
He swore to serve the nation,
and when they called, he came.
He did not choose the nature
of the war he went to fight.
He did his duty day-to-day,
tried to sort wrong from right.
He went as he was ordered,
and countered every threat.
He studied lessons of the past,
that we should not forget.
He made new friends at every step
And never lost the old

The rain swept my face
as I lay on the cold ground,
defeated to my last breath
It was done, I lost the battle
Crowds already decided which side they will stand now
Facing me as they stand aside to the winner
I closed my eyes once, and twice
and found myself alone in the dark, abandoned
I thought I had prepared myself well
for my lost today
But it was not enough
It felt hurt, almost couldn't bare it inside me
I closed my eyes once more,
hoped that the rain would drown me
But then I laughed at myself hardly,
despite the copper flavor on my lips
